If you are hiring a taxi from the airport to your hotel in Sorrento, then it’s best you can simply do a deal with them (about Sorrento Positano trip) at the time of booking your airport pick up. We suggest you combine a breathtaking hike (path of the Gods) during your day trip to Positano. In the morning you can ask a taxi to drop you in Bomerano where the “Path of the gods” starts. You then walk from Bomerano to Positano (4-5 hours by stopping several times and taking in the fantastic Amalfi coast views). This way you have covered two things in one single day. You arrive in Positano around 1-2 PM. Half a day is enough to explore and enjoy Positano.
Then you can ask the driver to pick you up in the evening from Positano. In peak season, we suggest you avoid peak times for travelling as roads get overcrowded. If travelling in peak times, make your plans to travel early morning and late evening.

How long is a ferry ride from Sorrento to Positano and how much it costs?
The ferry takes about 1 hour to 1 and a half from Sorrento to Positano. It will cost per person about EURO 30-40 for return.
